Is GoogleFit still supported?

Google Fit is still available but is being phased out as the main data syncing hub. Users can still view health data in Google Fit, but it’s recommended to switch to Health Connect for syncing across apps.

How to Transfer Data from Google Fit to Health Connect:

  1. Download Health Connect from the Google Play Store (pre-installed on newer Pixel devices and included in Android 14+).

  2. Open the Google Fit app.

  3. Go to Profile → Settings → Health Connect Settings.

  4. Enable “Sync Fit with Health Connect.”

Why is Google Fit Being Replaced?

Google Fit is being phased out in favor of Health Connect, which offers better privacy and control over your health data. Unlike Google Fit, Health Connect stores your data locally on your device (not in the cloud) and encrypts it for added security. It also lets you manage which apps can access or share your health data—all from one place.

How to connect to Health Connect?

To connect to the Health Connect and use Google Fit as your source of data. Follow the steps below:

1. Download the Health Connect app from the Google Play Store

2. Open Google Fit on your android device and  go to the Profile settings

3. Locate the Enable Health Connect Sync and enable the toggle that says "Sync Fit with Health Connect"

4. Open the nonprofit app you would like to use, navigate to Activity Tracking and select Health Connect for the Fitness Tracker option.
